We also drew the main events in our story in picture/comic format to help us map it out. In math we did another barnyard feet problem - this time we had to work backwards and figure out which animals were in the barn. We sketched the chrysalises - we have lots now! Some of our caterpillars are now in their chrysalis! Monday is the trip to the farm. Here are some of the important things we talked about: - wear closed toe shoes / shoes you don't mind getting dirty (rubber boots or old runners may be best), long pants are a good idea because of bugs - check the weather in Nanton on Sunday so you know what the weather will be like - its supposed to be hot so bring sunscreen, a hat (and bugspray if you'd like) - we have to be very good listeners and not touch the auger when we view it - bring a snack, lunch and a water bottle - don't be late for school - no electronics or money please - you can bring books, coloring books, etc for the bus - rain gear just in case We will not be back for regular dismissal. We will return at 3:30pm so please make sure you've arranged for pick-up then - please pick up your child from the front door Reminders: - please read your child's TWAS book with them and return it next week ![]()
Today we read a book called "The Napping House" and did a math problem about how many feet were in the bed. Then we tried to figure out how many feet were in our classroom. It was tricky and we are still trying to figure it out. This afternoon we had a fire drill and we talked about our trip to the farm on Monday, We also sketched our caterpillars - many of them are hanging in a 'j' formation and will soon be in chrysalises. We also had a visit from Remy the dog from Puppy Pals and his handler Bob. We learned about how he is a 9 month old puppy learning to be an assistance dog and we got to pet him if we wanted to.
