Mrs. Day's class had a visit from Baby Miles today! He is growing up so fast. Miles is sitting up all on his own, and starting to eat different foods. He also popped his first tooth and loves dancing to music :) Please enjoy your spring break and have safe travels if you are going anywhere! We are back at school April 3rd. Jungle Book!!! I have posted two new exciting posts. The first one has all of the songs in the entire show for you to practice. It is so important that you continue to practice at home so that you know it very well. The second post is a video of the entire musical including the scenes. If your interested in hearing the whole show you can find it here. Please click this link below and save it so that you can practice when ever you have time. http://ehsmusic1.weebly.com/jungle-book
Thank you Mrs. Coulson A beautiful day set the tone for us to enjoy some place-based education! Sa Ko Ko To came to our classroom for a visit just before the Niitsitapi students arrived. Did you know that your children remembered how to say hello in Blackfoot?!! It was so awesome! Here it is: "Hi" or "Hello" is "Oki" {pronounced oh-kee} "Good Morning" is " Iitamiskanatunii" {pronounced Eat-ah-meeeskah-naah-toonee} Paul Kelba joined the festivities as the CBE lead for Earth Play. He brought a trailer of giant loose parts to the school for our students and our guests from Niitsitapi to play with; their imaginations took over! Lastly, we enjoyed an afternoon stroll through the coulee. Tuscany really is a beautiful place to live, learn and grow up! ***Tomorrow is a half-day. School ends at 12:00! Your March Break begins! The Niitsitapi Learning Centre (Niitsitapi School children) will be visiting our classrooms tomorrow. We will begin our day with Elder Randy Bottle who will share his First Nation perspective on the importance of appreciating the earth. We will be going for a walk to the small coulee and Paul Kelba (the CBE guru on Earth Play) will be engaging them in energetic outdoor play on our school fields. A few helpful hints:
*Dress for the outdoors: snow pants, warm jacket, snow-boots, hats and water-resistant mitts. *Pack a simple snack for the coulee walk. *Be ready to be helpful and positive as you represent our school! We are still currently in need of some parents volunteers for tomorrow, if you are able to join us for the day please let us know :) ***Scholastic Book Orders are due tomorrow (March 21st.). The new spelling list came home today. An image of both lists can be found above. Don't forget to sign up for Parent-Teacher Conferences this Thursday 1:00-4:00pm and 5:00-7:00pm and Friday 8:00-10:00 and 10:15-12:00pm.
Today we finished off our Canadian Gothic images of rural Canada. They will be on display for our Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences next week. Have a "look-see" below: It was another lovely winter day to be outside. We were so happy to enjoy the snow pile and creative playground! Our spelling test went well. Enjoy your weekend and have a HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!!!
Unfortunately Baby Miles was feeling unwell and didn't visit with Mrs. Day's class today. Another visit will be re-scheduled once he's feeling better! Despite the swirling snow and cooler temperatures we enjoyed ourselves outside today over the noon hour. Our afternoon culminated in the creation of our new art installation: CANADIAN GOTHIC. Tune in tomorrow for a slideshow of our awesome creations.
The children have a spelling quiz tomorrow and classrooms 3/4 Scott and Dunmire (formerly Danchuk) will be hosting a Peace Assembly at 11:00. ***Mrs. Day will be away tomorrow (but back on Monday!) Baby Ruby came for a visit today in Mrs. Slot's class and Baby Miles will visit Mrs. Day's class tomorrow! Ruby can sit up (when being held) and roll over all by herself. She is growing so fast! ***Don't forget we have a spelling test on Friday! ***F.Y.I.: Mrs. Day will be away Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. We have enjoyed the wonderful sunshine and warm temperatures this week as well. Look at us! We are going on a community tomorrow afternoon and plan on leaving the school at 12:30pm. Please dress for the weather and pack an extra snack for our walk.

We are still planning on going for a walk on Wednesday, although it may turn into a community walk as we have hear the coulee is wet and slippery.
