Today we got to dissect owl pellets!! Ask your child what they found. We also had some morning Kindergarten students join us for buddy reading. We continued watching Charlotte's Web. We had our last phys. ed. class! We made huts with hula hoops.

We will be done at 12:10pm Today we wrote our last TWAS journal entry - you can keep the TWAS journal at home now! The Eco-club and Peace Ambassadors hosted our last peace assembly. We also continued work on our Eric Carle inspired coulee mural.
Reminders: - Report Cards went home today - Tuesday is Sports Day. The theme is Canada 150 - wear red and white - Wednesday is a half-day. Dismissal is at 12:10pm Wednesday, June 28 is the last day of classes. We have some special plans for the day. Included in the plans is a whole school photo. We would like to have all students wear their Eric Harvie School t-shirts on Wednesday for the photo. If your child does not already have one, they are available for 10.00 and may be purchased at the school. Sizes are Youth Small, Medium, and Large. We had another busy day preparing for this evening! Parents - It's Celebration of Learning Evening at EHS! We will kick off the presentations in the gym at 6:30 pm and then move into our smaller presentation places once the whole group presentation has finished. Please note the following information: 1) Students should arrive at the school beginning at 6:15 pm and enter through the front doors 2) Parents of all Kindergarten students please drop them off at the Kindergarten classrooms and then go to the gym for parent seating 2) Parents of the MCs please drop your children off at the Learning Commons to meet Jeff Stockton and then proceed to the gym for parent seating 3) Students in Grades 1 - 3 who are performing in small groups around the school, please tell your parents where your presenting spot will be before you enter the gym - students who attend EHS are asked to sit on the floor at the front of the gym, parents please use the chairs set up for you in the gym :) 4) We will begin the whole group performance piece at 6:30 pm in the gym 5) Once the group pieces are finished, we will ask the Gr. 1 - 3 students to leave the gym and meet their group teacher at their presenting spot to prepare for the small group presentations. Once the children have left the gym, parents will be able to go to the presenting spots and see their amazing children share their awesome stories! 6) When the performances are over, families are asked to please check the Lost & Found items on display in the Harmony Hallway - we have collected an enormous number of things that are hoping to go back home :) Thank you for celebrating our first year of learning at Eric Harvie School!! Please note - if your child has their Eric Harvie school name tag at home, please send it back to school with her/him by Monday at the latest. We do not want to order a replacement name tag if we do not need to :) Thanks! We also got to spend some more time with Jeff Stockton and he finished another story with us. We started to plan our coulee art mural and we spent some time doing our Daily 5 sessions.

We hope to see you all there! - tomorrow is Fun Lunch Today we had Elder Saa'Ko Ko To come and tell us a Blackfoot story. He also shared lots about his background and his culture with us. We used some non-standard measurement tools to measure objects around the school. We are almost finished reading Charlotte's Web. We spent some time reading outside in our school amphitheater.

Today we got to see Hope the school bunny. We observed her and we got to pet her! We also had a special presentation this afternoon by 2 cellists. In the morning we had our Daily 5 and we did some subtraction practice. Reminders: - Our storytelling night is this Thursday June 22 6:30pm-8:00pm. We are excited to see you all there. Please continue practicing with your child at home - All home reading and library books are due back now. We are no longer doing home reading for this year. Today we wrote in our TWAS journal. Please read your child's writing and write a message back. We also started working on an art project by making textured painted paper. Reminders: - book orders are due Monday - Mrs Zwack will be visiting our classroom with the bunny Hope on Monday afternoon. Please email your child's teacher if you do NOT want your child to pet the bunny or be a part of the presentation Today the grade 2's went to TMC this afternoon. Ask your child how it went. We had more time with Jeff Stockton and he talked to us about what voice level we should use. Please make sure your child practices their story for you at home.

T-shirts will be for sale at the Celebration of Learning, June 22 for $10.00 (cash or cheque made payable to Eric Harvie School). It would be great to have one for the Sports Day and school start up. Today had our multi-age storytelling groups and Jeff Stockton came to our class. He taught us a mirror game that reminded us to use our bodies when we tell our stories. Please have your child practice their story for you at home lots before our storytelling evening next week. Attached below are the guidelines of what we are looking for when students tell their stories. Baby Gavin came for his last visit with Ms. Scott's class. We also continued working on subtraction strategies.
