What a beautiful day for a hike! Your child walked between 8-10.5km to TMC, Tuscany School and Twelve Mile Coulee. Tuscany community is a beautiful place. No injuries and the bug-life was minimal. A HUGE THANK YOU to our Parent-Volunteers, Dallas, Kristin, Dave and Rianna. Sleep well tonight everyone. Friday is a half-day! Here are just a couple pictures from the day, we were so busy walking :) Enjoy! Bike to School Day: June 5, 2018

Your child will need: A hat, sunscreen, bug spray, layers, lots of water (2 water bottles), morning and afternoon snack and lunch (if you did not order a fun lunch), good walking shoes and they must wear socks to prevent blisters. From the lunchroom staff: Our lost and found is over flowing; we would love to see hoodies, sweaters and scarves returned to their rightful owners. Lost and found items have been displayed in the school several times this year, and will be ready for viewing again during the volunteer tea. Please stop by to claim any missing favourites. Unclaimed items will be donated on June 1st. Please see attached file for information regarding the upcoming Glazed 8 Run on Sunday, June 10. The children came back all "sun-kissed" and ready to learn. Literacy Centres, 2-digit subtraction and tangrams kept us busy this morning and our afternoon was filled with building structures or objects with a variety of materials. Please continue to return your field trip forms for our walk to the coulee on Thursday May 24th. The FUN LUNCH for that day will be sent to our lunch station at Tuscany School; so please let your child know that it's still coming! Ha! Ha! The last day to borrow from THE BOOK TRUCK (Calgary Public Library) will be on June 6th. The Truck will come back on June 20th for returns only.
The students did an amazing job for the matinee performance this afternoon. We look forward to seeing some of you tonight. See below for more information: Tonight is our evening Jungle Book performance. We are so excited. For the evening performance, please have your child here by 6 pm. Doors will open into the gym at 6:15 and the show will begin at 6:30. We will be face painting the faces of the students who would like it done during the day. It is our goal that the students keep their faceprint on until after the evening performance. We do have a few volunteers for the evening to touch up those neccesary. There is a sign at the entrance with guidelines on where to sit to best see your child. If your child is a principle cast member please feel free to sit anywhere however the centre will probably be the best for viewing. We ask that you do not film the Jungle Book in its entirety as that goes against the rights purchased through Disney. At the end of the show the students will be brought back and dismissed from their classrooms. If you are not watching the show you can pick your child up at 7:30. Mrs. Day's class had Roots of Empathy today and a visit from baby Miles. He just turned one year old and has been taking his first steps! It has been so great to watch him grow. See below for some pictures. Parents!!! If your child has long hair, please tie it back for the next 2 weeks to help discourage our new classroom "pets." We want our pets to move out; tongue in cheek. Ha! Ha! Baby Ruby visited us today! Wow has she grown!!! She has her first TOOTH!! We began our hands-on exploration of our building unit today... The children were so creative!!! Check them out: |
