Today we had our spring pictures taken. We finished up our I Spy boards and began writing our clues for our own I Spy book. We drew a picture in our journals of our favorite part of Mr. Stockton's story from yesterday. We also had DrumFit in gym. It has been really fun this week - ask me about it.

Today we had a very exciting day. We started our artist-in-residency with Jeff Stockton - a storyteller. He came and told us an adventure story while he played the harp. Ask me about my favorite part of the story. Mrs. Bedry also came and taught us some sign language as part of our talk on baby communication. In the afternoon we tried to get our I Spy boards finished.
Reminders: - tomorrow is spring picture day - if you would like a picture you need to return your form tomorrow We are going on a field trip to the zoo on May 17th. We would like to know how many students have zoo passes that they could use for entry. Please fill in the form by clicking on the Zoo Pass Question button below. Forms and more information on the trip will follow next week. Today we made another I Spy. This time we had to think go a theme and be more intentional about the items we hid in it. In math the grade two's learned how to use blank number lines and the grade ones practiced skip counting.
Today we worked on our TWAS entry. Please write back to your child's entry and the journal before Friday. We also brainstormed some descriptive words for size, texture and color. In the afternoon we continued talking about looking closely. We looked at some I Spy books and then tried to create our own I Spy page with clues.
Reminders: - dress for wet and chilly weather this week as we will still be going outside for recesses - we have decided not to go to the coulee tomorrow morning as the activity we had planned will not work with the current weather conditions Today was our official grand opening. We had many special guests attend and it was wonderful! We were so busy with it that we didn't get a chance to write in our TWAS journals. We will write in them on Monday and send them home then,

This afternoon we spent some time learning about the story "The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore" with Mrs. Kinsman.
