The children enjoyed Wondertime this morning and explored their interests and passions. Thanks to Kari-Anne for volunteering in the school to support the various "goings-on" in the learning areas. Scholastic came home today and is due Monday April 23rd. Have a nice weekend! (Hopefully Ol' Man Winter has gone away!!!)

It was really powerful to see so many students wearing their sport jerseys and green and gold to honor the memory of the Humboldt Broncos Hockey Team. Please see the slide show for the kids showing their support. Photo day is Thursday, April 26, 2018. Your child should have brought home a reminder form, if not there is a picture of one below. No homework tonight :) Tomorrow is JERSEY DAY to honor the memory of the Humboldt Broncos Hockey Team. Students are encouraged to wear a jersey (ANY JERSEY) to acknowledge the tragedy and show compassion for the community of Humboldt, Saskatchewan. Any sports paraphernalia will do! A field trip form is coming home today for our visit to the YMCA's River's Edge site on Wednesday April 25th. Please fill out and return it as soon as possible. READY, SET, GLOW! Baby Miles will visit Mrs. Day's students next week so watch for our slideshow. The students have homework tonight.
Our field trip to St. Patrick's Island and the East Village is tomorrow!! Please make sure to have the following things: 1) Warm, dry footwear (and please wear socks)! We are WALKING. 2) A warm coat, hat and mittens! 3) Wear pants!! 4) Pack a lunch, a water bottle and extra snacks! Good manners are a must! The new spelling list went home today, so here it is! The students are adapting an award-winning children's book for our classroom. Have a look at the mask-props we created today! Hello parents! The scheduled date for our assembly is Friday May 25th. Please add this to your calendar. We will remind you again later on in April and again in May!
Ugh... This cold is awful!!! Thankfully the weather is looking up for our field trip on next week! Please continue to return your field trip forms for Tuesday; thank you! We have finally decided how the shows are going to work for the Jungle Book. The school has been divided up into thirds. Every class will get a dress rehearsal, a matinee and an evening performance. Ticket information will be coming to you shortly. Please see below for your student’s performance time and day. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at [email protected]. There will be a sign up genius for any parents who would like to volunteer for different aspects, any and all volunteers are appreciated. The dates are as follows, For evening performances please have your student arrive 30 mins prior to the performance so that we can get costumes and make-up done! Tuesday May 15th Matinee – 9:45-10:45 Evening – show begins 6:30-7:30 (AMK, Scott, Cox, Simmons, Zadran, Neily) Wednesday May 16th Matinee – 1:30-2:30 – Evening show begins 6:30-7:30 (PMK, Dunmire, Bates/Zwack, Kelly, Ross, Le) Thursday May 17th Matinee – 1:30-2:30 – Evening show begins 6:30-7:30 (Campbell, Huebner, Chang, Fournier, Low, Slot, Day) All principal cast must be present at all shows. These are any characters that have speaking lines as well as, Vultures, wolves, elephants, jungle speakers and monkeys. Al of these students are in grade 3/4.
