We enjoyed our first WONDERTIME experience today. Ask your child what topic they've "wondered" about! Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Huebner put on a fantastic assembly for our school.
Mrs. Coulson has asked for the children to check out her music blog! Here's the link: http://ehsmusic1.weebly.com

Scholastic order sent home! They are due back Thursday, January 25.
The spelling test is tomorrow :) There is a grade 3/4 Peace Assembly tomorrow at 11:15. Today Baby Ruby and Baby Miles visited us today! They have grown so much! The students learned about how babies express their emotions. Have a look at our visits: Spelling homework tonight. Here's the list again (if you need it!)
It's Wednesday... and THAT means the Public Library Book Truck will visit! Don't forget your library card and/or books to return!
We had a fun day today! We are exploring a whole school math assessment with a story called, The Wolf's Chicken Stew. We'll attempt some "calculations" tomorrow so that the teachers can look at how the students think and problem-solve.
Our next science unit began today as well. We'll be exploring the concepts of HOT and COLD. It's a good time of year to be looking at these terms! Don't forget that Friday is a half-day and we dismiss at 12:05. Your child should have brought home their Calgary Then and Now preposition map. If they did not have it today, expect for them to bring it home this week as they are just finishing up.
We almost have all the swimming forms! Please return any you still have at home. Volunteer forms will also be coming home for those parents who are volunteering to fill out and return. Ask your child about our guest speaker, SAA KO KO TO in our class today. He taught us Blackfoot stories, and songs. Today the girls and boys created new classroom coat hooks for their jackets and backpacks! They are seriously cute and can be viewed below: ***Please continue to return your swim forms, thank you!
Mrs. Day and Mrs. Slot would like to send out a sincere thank you to parents for dressing your children warmly for the past few days! Thanks so much for the help! Please continue to bring in your child's swimming forms and please let know Sandra Lakusta or Dallas Hall if you are able to volunteer. Make sure that your child is dressed for this awfully cold weather. Please see below of the students working today :) Please return swimming forms for our swimming lessons on January 29th- February 2nd. If you would like to volunteer please let Sandra Lakusta or Dallas Hall, our room parents know.
Mrs. Slot found an unmarked envelope with $40 cash for swimming in her room, if you sent this with your child today please let her know. We are working on preposition maps for Calgary Then and Now and the students are really coming along with their writing. The break was proved beneficial. Swimming forms came home with your child today. Please fill them out and return as soon as possible.
Have a great night! |
