Right to Play is a global organization that reaches out to developing communities all over the world to empower and educate youth through play and games. Through the power of play, children grow to be adults that drive positive social and economic change in their communities. Our Peace Ambassadors and grade 3/4 classes had the opportunity earlier in the year to learn about Right to Play and learn some games that the Peace Ambassadors will in turn teach to our entire school community during Sports Day. We would like to encourage all students to bring a Toonie to support Right to Play in continuing its amazing work of teaching children all over the world (including us at Eric Harvie!) to make a difference. We will be collecting Toonies until the end of the school year. We hope you will help us out! Today we started our day with finishing our letters to our future selves. We had snack and recess. We played Race to 100 and Race from 100. We finished our movie reward in lunch room and how the last fun lunch of the year. We had 3 blocks of daily 5. We had circuits in gym. We finished our watercolour art from yesterday. We ended the day with gratitude circle and blog.

We learned some new art techniques today using water colour paints. We had gym inside today. The book truck came and students were given the opportunity to return their books. Just a friendly reminder that all home reading and learning commons books are now overdue and need to be returned. As we approach summer and Canada Day... Check out these amazing Canada books (either about Canada or written by Canadians).

Ms. Ross' class harvested the potatoes but unfortunately there were no potatoes. There were a few flowers and the leaves were all wilted which we were told meant that they were ready to harvest. Alberta Agriculture also assured us that we could harvest prior to the end of year, but unfortunately it didn't work out. We ended the day with gratitude circle and blog. The book truck is scheduled to come tomorrow to pick up books only. |
